Understanding the Gibbors Framework
he Gibbors Transformation Framework is a wholistic approach to working with young people. It recognizes that destructive behaviour and juvenile delinquency are connected to deeper conditions affecting a young person's spiritual, emotional, educational, relational and economic development.
Gibbors responds through four interconnected commitments: RESTORE, NURTURE, EQUIP and MOBILIZE (RNEM).
The goal is not simply to change behaviour, but to help young people experience restoration, develop wholeness, acquire the knowledge and skills needed for productive lives, and become responsible contributors to their families and communities.
THE CONDITIONS WE ADDRESS
The need for restoration to Christ, identity, purpose and a sound spiritual foundation.
The need for acceptance, belonging, healthy relationships and positive identity formation.
The need for supportive environments, healing, resilience and healthy development.
The need for quality education, knowledge, critical thinking and life skills.
The need for practical skills, entrepreneurship, economic opportunity and productive pathways.
